Smile Busy, Busy, Busy

Sark will no doubt be very busy over the next few weeks. As well as the impending Royal Visit, I hear that an American film crew is coming as well - are they coming for the Royal Visit or is it just coincidence? But any publicity to increase visitors numbers who wish to spend their money, will no doubt be very welcome from all businesses in Sark. I would imagine that the problem comes when there are too many people all trying to ride their bicyles in The Avenue at the same time, all on both sides of the road and all going in different directions!

Default Busy time ahead

Yes, its all going on here

The film crew first asked about Sark back in the autumn... they were looking for an 'island without cars' and considered both Sark and Herm - fortunately they chose our island. Their itinerary includes meeting quite a few residents and (hopefully) getting a positive view of life here.

Most Sark residents welcome visitors - we need to earn a living The island does get a bit crowded in high season but as the day visitors return to Guernsey and Jersey, those who have chosen to stay a few days (or longer) can relax and enjoy the tranquility of this very peaceful island.

Even when all the hire bikes are out on the road there are still lots of open spaces and places to escape to
