Smile Back to the rat race

Just returned from a holiday on Sark staying at the Aval de Creux. It ws our 4th time there in the last 8 years and we enjoyed it very much. The island looked beautiful with butterflies and flowers in abundance. Have made a resolution to visit next May when the wildflowers are at their best.

Default Welcome

Greetings Jonah

Good to hear you enjoyed your visit so much and that you are already planning your next trip. Yes, the whole island is very beautiful in May with a mass of wild flowers everywhere - but then it's lovely here in ALL seasons... Autumn heather, blackberries and the mysterious mists... even Christmas is great here... carols, log fires, mulled wine and the Avenue aglow with lights - just in case you find you can't wait right round to next year

Bob

Cool Hello there

Hi Bob

Thanks for the response. How has the credit crunch affected tourism on Sark, are visitor numbers holding up? We were at the Aval in mid June and it did not seem very busy compared with our previous visits.

Mike

Thumbs up Business as Usual

Sark may be the only place in the Western world that is riding the recession. The inward investment in Sark has created employment and encouraged quite a few to start up businesses.

Tourist numbers seem to be holding up well but the real test is over the next six weeks when families are on holiday here... the busiest weeks of the year. Personally, I'm totally optimistic
